While sugarplums may be dancing in your head right now, you may be thinking ahead to counting calories again beginning January 2. I have your answer. Think Asian! Asian cuisines are healthful and incorporate lots of fresh ingredients…and they taste awesome! But how do you create these wonderful dishes at home? Come learn about new cooking techniques and some new ingredients that are plentiful in Southern California.

This is a two part event; you can attend one or both these events! Taste authentic Vietnamese food at a restaurant in Little Saigon on Saturday, January 7 and shop at an Asian supermarket on Saturday where we will buy our groceries for the Wednesday Asian Cooking Class. Vehicles will leave from Holy Nativity 10:45 – 3:30 or you can meet us in Little Saigon (Garden Grove – Orange County).

Then on Wednesday, January 11, 6:00 – 9:00, Patricia K. Rose, of Fresh Food in a Flash will lead a hands-on cooking class at the Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester.  Once we complete the cooking, sit down and enjoy a meal you and your new friends made together with a glass of wine. On the menu so far:

Red Snapper* with Shredded Cabbage & Red Curry Sauce •

Vietnamese Spring Rolls •

Pad Thai Noodles • + More

Saturday Trip to Little Saigon $25 (must be reserved in advance). Wednesday Cooking Class fee $40 when you reserve by January 6, $45 at the door. Attend both events for $60. To reserve your spot, email Patricia@FreshFoodinaFlash.com. Then write a check to “Fresh Food in a Flash”; mail it to Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, Cooking Class, 6700 West 83rd Street, Westchester, CA 90045.

…and, as is our custom, please bring a can, bag or box of food to donate to the LAX Food Pantry. We also welcome you to bring extra backyard fruits and veggies to share or donate to LAX Food Pantry.
