Evil Jungle Prince with Chicken

Your Asian culinary experience does not have to stop at your local Chinese take-out place.   In Southern California, we are lucky to experience the food of just about every Asian culture in the many restaurants, neighborhoods and grocery stores.    In our “A Taste of Asia” Cooking Class on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester,  we will experiment with some of these authentic ingredients available at your local grocery store or a quick trip to one of the many Asian neighborhoods.

Here’s what’s on the menu:

  • Vegetable Pot Stickers with a Sesame-Ginger Dipping Sauce from China (Zhengjao) and Japan (Gyoza)
  • Evil Jungle Prince with Chicken from Keo’s Thai Restaurant in Honolulu.  Main ingredients include cabbage, chicken and coconut milk.
  • Soy-Sesame Marinated Beef Lettuce Wraps from Korea
  • Malaysian Prawns and Pineapple served over rice noodles
  • Ice Cream with Pistachios, Cardamom and Rose Water from Pakistan
  • Thai Iced Tea

I am excited about tasting all of these dishes together.  It’s a great combination of Asian flavors that we are going to love.  Come and experience it with us.

Patricia K. Rose, of Fresh Food in a Flash will lead this hands-on cooking class on February 6, 6:00-9:00 at the Holy Nativity Community Hall in Westchester.    Once we complete the cooking, sit down and enjoy a meal you and your new friends made together with a glass of wine.

Class fee $40 when you reserve by February 3 , $45 at the door.  To reserve your spot,  email Patricia@FreshFoodinaFlash.com .  Then write a check to “Fresh Food in a Flash”; mail it to Holy Nativity Episcopal Church, Cooking Class,  6700 West  83rd Street, Los Angeles, CA  90045.
